What it is

Let's be clear about what this is, because it's not the same as translating. Here we start from a translation that already exists, done by you, by someone else or by a machine. We read it sentence by sentence against the original: we check names, dates, numbers, terms and that the meaning is the same, and we make it read naturally in the other language. If the translation needs so many changes that it's better to redo it, we tell you before we start and give you the translation price, so you can decide. Revisions to translations we did ourselves are free: this service is for translations from other sources.

How your investment is calculated

We count the translated text you give us. The first billing page covers up to 310 words (250 plus 60 courtesy words, given only once), and each additional page covers 250 more words: up to 310 words = 1 page; 311 to 560 = 2; 561 to 810 = 3. Example: a 300-word translation = 1 page = 12 USD. A 500-word one = 2 pages = 24 USD. If we see it's better to retranslate, we first give you the translation price for the right service. If you later want us to certify it, it's quoted as Certified translation of official documents.

If your job comes to less than 300 USD, you pay it in full when you approve your quote. If it comes to 300 USD or more, you pay 50% to start and 50% on delivery. You pay from your traducasa.com account.

Guarantee and refunds

Service guarantee: if an office objects to the translation because of a mistake on our part, we fix it at no cost and deliver it again. Revisions of our translation are included.

Refund policy, depending on timing:

  • Before we start working on your document: 100% refund.
  • Work started but not delivered: we refund the part not yet worked on.
  • Work delivered: no refund, but we fix any mistake of ours at no cost.
  • Official fees and shipping already paid to third parties cannot be recovered.

Your documents and your data are always handled with full confidentiality.

Frequently asked questions

What's at stake if you submit a translation with errors?
A misspelled name, a wrong date or a sentence that says something else can get your document sent back or make the reader understand something different. Reviewing it first costs much less than repeating a process.
If you did my translation, do I pay for the review?
No. Revisions to our translations are free, included. This service is for translations done by you or someone else.
Do you review machine translations?
Yes. We read them against the original. If a review is enough, we charge for the review; if it's better to retranslate, we tell you first with the price and you decide.
Will you tell me what you changed?
Yes. If you ask, we also give you a copy with the changes marked.
Does the review make it certified?
The review leaves your translation correct, but it carries no certification. If you later want us to certify it, it's quoted as Certified translation of official documents, because the certification is signed by our translator.

We review translations between Spanish and English. If we see it's better to retranslate, we tell you before we start: you decide. If you're not sure what's best, write to us and we'll help, no obligation.
