What it is

Let's be clear about what this is, because people sometimes mix it up with translating a document. Interpreting happens live: you speak, the interpreter says it in the other language, and the same the other way around, so both sides understand each other in the moment. It works for medical visits, job interviews, the bank, insurance, school or a meeting with your lawyer. The interpreter says exactly what is said, adding and leaving out nothing, and gives no medical, legal or any other advice. For formal hearings before a judge, the court requires a court-certified interpreter, and we don't offer that service yet.

Who it is for

For you if you have an appointment in English or Spanish and want to understand everything and be understood: patients, parents, job candidates, bank or insurance customers. Also for clinics, schools and companies serving people who speak the other language.

What’s included

  • Spanish and English interpreter for the time booked
  • Live interpreting both ways
  • Preparation beforehand on your appointment's topic
  • By phone, video call or in person, with travel included within Doral and Miami-Dade
  • A real person who books with you and gives you the price first
  • Confidentiality of everything that's said

What’s not included

  • Formal hearings before a judge: the court requires a court-certified interpreter and we don't offer that service yet
  • Medical, legal or any other advice: the interpreter says what is said
  • Written translation of your appointment's documents: quoted separately with Certified translation of official documents
  • Travel outside Doral and Miami-Dade: quoted before we confirm

How your investment is calculated

Booked appointment: 50 USD for the first hour, which is the minimum. After that, 25 USD for each extra half hour. Example: a 1.5-hour medical visit = 50 + 25 = 75 USD. A 2-hour interview = 50 + 25 + 25 = 100 USD. A quick 20-minute call is charged as the minimum hour, because the interpreter sets that time aside for you. On demand, without booking: 75 USD per hour. In person, travel within Doral and Miami-Dade is included; outside that area it's quoted before we confirm.

You can add: Extra half hour: 25 USD | On-demand interpreting, no booking: 75 USD per hour | Certified translation of your appointment's documents | Regular text translation of letters or instructions

How it works

  1. 1
    You request
ask for your interpreter from Get your price, by call, video call or in writing
  2. 2
We give you the price and book
a real person confirms date, time, format and price; you decide
  3. 3
    We prepare
the interpreter reviews your appointment's topic
  4. 4
    We interpret
the interpreter joins you live by phone, video or in person
  5. 5
    We wrap up
we confirm the time used and, if the appointment ran longer, the extra time

Next step: If your appointment produces documents that need translating, like a medical report or a bank letter, the next step is Certified translation of official documents or Regular text translation.

What we need from you

  • Date and time of your appointment, and how long you think it will last; if you don't know, we'll help you estimate
  • Whether it's by phone, video or in person, plus the address or link
  • What the appointment is about (medical, bank, school, interview), so the interpreter comes prepared
  • Names of the people involved and special terms, if you have them

Frequently asked questions

What's at stake if you go to an important appointment without an interpreter, or with a relative who isn't fluent in both languages?
You could misunderstand a doctor's instruction, sign something that wasn't clear to you or not be able to explain your situation well. An interpreter says exactly what is said, both ways, so you decide with all the information.
Can you interpret at my court hearing?
For formal hearings before a judge, the court requires a court-certified interpreter, and we don't offer that service yet. We can join you for informal legal meetings, like a meeting with your lawyer.
What if my appointment lasts less than an hour?
The minimum hour applies, because the interpreter sets that time aside just for you.
Which is best: phone, video or in person?
For a short call, phone works well. For a long appointment or one with documents, video helps everyone see and understand each other. In person is for when you need the interpreter by your side.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
With 24 hours' notice, you cancel or reschedule for free. With less than 24 hours' notice, the first hour is charged, because the interpreter has already set that time aside for you.
